PONGKARNDA "KIK" UDOMPRASERT
Born and raised in the warm and loving culture of Thailand, Kik possesses an extraordinary ability to connect with people and their emotions on a very deep level. This quality comes through in her work as a filmmaker, as her films, first and foremost, communicate very strong emotions.
After graduating from Mahidol University, one of the top colleges in Thailand, with a Bachelor's Degree in Television Production, Kik remained there for 4 years to join the production support industry and has worked on many international projects including Nicolas Winding Refn's Only God Forgives, Strike Back: Legacy, and All I See Is You by Marc Forster. In pursuit of her dream, she came to California in 2015 to study directing at Chapman University.
SIYUE "APRIL" WANG
As a filmmaker, April applies her extensive experience in communication and journalism to her work, crafting films with a certain delicacy of the world and its characters. She is proficient in the Chinese, American, and Japanese film industries.
After studying at Doshisha University, Japan, she moved to the United States to study producing for film and television at Chapman University and has worked on over 10 projects during the first year of her graduate program. The diverse background helps her to better understand the different genres of film and types of audiences.
SUNAN "SUE" LIN
Sue is a young producer who has strong background in filmmaking. She graduated from Peking University, where she was the president of film association for almost two years, having built strong relationships with many film critics in China, then came to Chapman University for a Master’s Degree in Film Producing. During the six-year film studying, she directed three short films and produced over ten successful student films, one of which won Best Student Film in the Peking University Student Academy Award.
She also spent a year working in film marketing and distribution for several American independent films, which makes her a strong and competitive producer in both the Chinese and American industries.
MIN JEONG CHAI
For as long as she can remember, Min Jeong wanted to create the story worlds, to become a production designer. She started taking basic design classes in high school and went on to develop her skills further at HongIk University, the most famous art school in South Korea, during which time she had designed over 6 art films and worked on two Korean feature films as an Art Department Assistant.
Min Jeong is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree in Production Design at Chapman University
XIAODAN "ARIEL" HAO
Ariel has an extensive background in Film and Media Arts, having been studying it for over 10 years. She graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, which is the best art school in China. As a storyteller, her passion lies in Production Design. While in China, she had worked on three commercial sets as an Art Department Assistant, and on a feature film as a Production Assistant.
Ariel is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Production Design at Chapman University.
Director of Photography
Rodney is a rising filmmaker possessing a sensitive eye for the beauty of the world around him, and the skill to capture moments as they swiftly pass. Born in Mobile, Alabama, Rodney has a deeply rooted love for his family and a genuine respect for all mankind. He prides himself on his integrity and aims to leave a positive impact on every life that he encounters.
After graduating from Alabama A&M University, a year later, Rodney was admitted into Chapman University. At Chapman, he is studying the art of cinematography. On his continued pursuit in filmmaking, Rodney plans to stay strong in his faith as he recognizes his journey will be faced with many obstacles.
Ya-Chun has a wide-ranging knowledge on film and video procedures from inception to completion. Her goal as a storyteller is to remind people to consider the details that they often overlook in their lives.
After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Management in Taiwan, Ya-Chun spent 2 years in Korea experiencing a new culture. Traveling has made her observant of every moment in life. Chasing after her dream, she came to Chapman University to study Film Editing and has completed 7 short films within 2 years. She also worked as an Assistant Editor for the documentary, “All Hearts and Minds," a film about the democratization of Taiwan.
FREDRICK MARCUS CRAIG JR.
Fresco has a very unique style of sound design that has been embedded in him through life experiences thus translating through the passion that he puts into his work. Every sound wave tells a story and with this understanding, he cares to connect with the audience for an overall epic experience.
Originally from New London, CT, Fresco served in The Unites States Army in the 82nd Airborne Division for three and a half years before moving to Los Angeles, CA to make his mark as a sound designer. After graduating from The Los Angeles Film School with an Associates of Science in Recording Arts (CL), he instantly began rising as a successful audio engineer in television, music, and podcasts. He is currently enrolled back in The Los Angeles Film School studying for a Bachelor's of Science in Entertainment Business.
Jesi Nelson is a Los Angeles based composer for film & media, conductor and orchestrator. She received her BFA in Music Composition and Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and MFA in Music Composition for the Screen at Columbia College. Upon her move to LA, she interned for Danny Elfman at Studio Della Morte, and soon after started assisting composer Michael Kramer, writing additional music for the Emmy nominated Disney/LucasFilm Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures TV series under his lead.
Recently, she was selected as one of 6 composers to participate in the highly competitive Sundance Institute Music and Sound Design Labs at Skywalker Sound. Most recently, she was chosen to write the music for the 2018 Sundance Film Festival trailer played before each screening.
1st Assistant Director
Gabriel Carnick is a Los Angeles based First Assistant Director, Writer, and Director. Knowing since a very young age that she wanted to write and direct, Gabriel has spent much of her life with a singular goal. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Film and History at Ohio University, and later an MFA in Film Directing at Chapman University.
Gabriel had a very nomadic childhood, moving often across the east coast with her mother. Being exposed many different perspectives helped hone her artistic passion As a filmmaker, Gabriel strives to help create films with a social justice or human message. She believes great films can cause real change, either on a large scale or in a singular person. She believes her art is meant to inspire people who show strength in the face of adversity.
